Alexandrite is a fairly rare variety of the mineral Chrysoberyl. This gemstone is prized for its chameleon like exterior of stunning colors, which appear to change in response to the light. Its hue is green by day, red by night and purplish in low light.
Alexandrite is named after Russias Prince Alexander II because this stone was first discovered on his birthday in 1830 in the emerald mines near the Ural Mountains.
Alexandrite opens intuition and acts as a gurdian stone it gives courage and helps self esteem whilst helping one to overcome fear. Its healing properties are good for the Pancreas , Spleen and assiting with blood flow around the body whilst givng balance to our nervous system.
